FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The drought might have some benefits when it comes to area wetlands.
As plants die off, more plant matter is put back into the ground allowing for greater plant growth in the future.
This leads to improved breeding grounds for water foul in the area.
Also, the water that is down and gone in some areas can actually help some wildlife populations.
The drought can also help kill off some types of invasive species in the wetlands.
