Drowning Death Ruled An Accident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- The Allen County Coroner has ruled the death of a man who drowned after he drove into a pond as an accident.

On June 5th, 32-year-old Elijah M. Tanner was rescued from a pond in the 14300 block of Lima Rd after his car veered of the road and crashed into the water. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but he later died.

The coroner concluded that the Tanner experienced a health event that caused him to go off the road and into the pond.
