FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A man was found shot to death on the southeast side early Monday morning.
An autopsy has confirmed that the cause of death was gunshot wounds. Police say a gun was found on the scene. It happened shortly after 2 a.m. at the intersection of Smith and Emily. Dispatch received a call of a man down at that location.
Responding officers found an 18-year-old man, Nathaniel Jishaun Rainer, in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are now calling this a homicide. This is the 4th recorded homicide in Fort Wayne this calendar year.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner's Office and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
