Allen County, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A former Allen County sheriff's sergeant has been sentenced for felony theft.

58-year-old Louis Lee will spend the next two years on home detention and must repay $650.

Lee pleaded guilty last month to stealing items from a truck outside the Leo-Cedarville Klopfenstein Furniture store.

Surveillance video showed Lee scoping out the store, then returning about three hours later, taking the tools out of the vehicle and putting them in his squad car, last November.

He resigned during an Internal Affairs investigation into the incident.
