Excise Officers Seize $10,000 in Illegal Wagering Operations

SEYMOUR, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Nearly $10,000 was seized and two southern Indiana bars were cited along the Ohio River Saturday on the preliminary charges of Promoting Professional Gambling.

According to officials,the Indiana State Excise Police officers, who were working enforcement details related to the Kentucky Derby, investigated alleged illegal wagering operations at the Riverbottom Inn located in Maukport and Resch's Tavern located in Clarksville. Resch's Tavern was also cited for allegedly allowing beverages to be carried in and out of the premise.

Officials say the Indiana State Excise Police are still investigating the alleged illegal activity to determine whether the potential criminal charges will be filed.
