Fire Breaks Out at Metal Shredding Facility

Kendallville, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Fire crews responded to a fire and explosion at Metal Shred Industries in Kendallville Wednesday afternoon.

An initial investigation indicates that a fire and explosion occurred a debris catcher near the rear of the factory.

The fire was able to be contained due to the design of the machinery but the explosion itself caused damage to other machinery.

Multiple fire departments responded to the facility.

No injures are reported and the shock wave of the explosion could be felt two-miles away.
