FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Fort Wayne fire crews battled a blaze at a house on the city's near northside late Wednesday.

They were called to the 700 block of Goshen Avenue shortly after 11:20 p.m. on reports of a house fire. When they arrived, they found flames shooting out of the attic and exterior walls of the home.

Officials say the battle only lasted 25 minutes, but the home suffered severe fire and smoke damage.

Luckily, no one was inside the home at the time of the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
