TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A former Illinois judge has been arrested after police say he smuggled drugs into a Terre Haute prison.

Robert Drew is a former judge from Marion, Illinois and has a client at the Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary.

On Saturday, the FBI got a tip that drew was coming to the penitentiary to visit Benjamin Kramer.

A Vigo County deputy pulled Drew over Saturday morning and found a Fed-Ex package in his vehicle, which contained a small amount of marijuana and 52 grams of heroin.

Drew told police he was delivering the drugs because he and his family had been threatened.
