Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Hundreds gather to show support for a local non-profit helping in the fight against breast cancer.
On Friday Francine's Friends had its largest turn out ever for it's annual lunch with friends event at the Memorial Coliseum.
600 people were there to support to organization that provides mammograms for women, even if they can't afford them.
Our own Linda Jackson was the emcee of the event.
Each year the lunch raises around $120,000.
Francine's Friends Board President Sharon Simmons said, “We give women hope, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer sometime in their lifetime, so we provide mammograms for women no matter what their barrier might be.”
Francine's Friends has a mobile mammography bus that visits locations all around northeast Indiana.
