Free Bus Rides on Ozone Action Days a Thing of the Past?

Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has determined that the Fort Wayne area is no longer in violation of clean air standards and will no longer pay for Citilink's free fare promotion on Ozone Action days.

Undoubtedly there will be some days this summer when air quality could be unhealthy for people with breathing problems. On these days, IDEM will continue to issue an Air Quality Alert asking residents to take proper precautions and reduce pollutants on these days.

It’s still a good idea to ride the bus, walk, bike, carpool, and/or stay home on alert days.
