Delaware County, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – A drunk New Castle man has been arrested for flipping a golf cart into a creek and killing his passenger.

According to police about 1 a.m. Sunday, near the town of Selma, Travis Andrew Farling, 31, and Gaynelle Anne Moore, 51, left the party they were at and were driving across a grassy field when the golf cart went down an embankment and into a creek.

Moore was found under the cart, which had rolled on top of her, pinning her under water. Moore was rushed to a local hospital, where she later died.

The Delaware County Coroner said Moore likely died of drowning or positional asphyxia.

Farling was preliminarily charged with a DWI resulting in serious injury or death and criminal recklessness resulting in death. His blood-alcohol content was recorded to be at 0.19 percent after the crash.
