West Lafayette, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Purdue University’s selection of Governor Mitch Daniels as its next president is costing the school a $1 million donation from a former dean.
When it was announced that Daniels was appointed, the former dean of Purdue’s college of education requested that her will be rewritten to remove her bequest to Purdue.
She cited Daniels' lack of academic experience as well as his policy decisions related to labor and education funding as reasons for her decision.
Daniels will assume his new responsibilities as president of Purdue in January after he finishes his second term as governor.
