FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – An armed robber took cash from a Grabill gas station Thursday night and the owner of the gas station is looking for help in identifying the robber.

Close to 10 p.m. Thursday night, a man armed with a gun, entered Phil’s One Stop at 13300 State St. and asked the clerk for money. He told the clerk and the lone customer that if they cooperated, that no one would be hurt.

During the robbery, the suspect dropped what appeared to be a phone cord that the station’s owner believes would have been used to tie up his clerk.

The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, slim, weighing approximately 165 pounds, having a large nose, approximately 50-years-old and was seen driving a grey or beige 1999 four-door Saturn.

Gas station owner Adam Danko says robberies like Thursday night’s are not common Grabill.

“It just makes you feel violated, completed violated. Even in Grabill where most people walk around. It's a very small, close knit community. I've been around to the other area businesses and people who are talking about it are kind of shocked.”

Danko could not say how much cash the robber stole.
