LAWRENCE, Ind. -- Former Indiana High School basketball star and current NBA player, Greg Oden, is facing felony battery charges after an incident last week.

RTV6 reports Oden was arrested early Thursday morning when officers responded to a disturbance in the 7200 block of Maple Bluff Place. Police spoke with Oden outside the residence and when they entered the home, they found a woman on the couch with a bloody face.

Oden admitted to hitting the woman and reportedly said " I was wrong and I know what has to happen."

Oden was a standout basketball player at Lawrence North High School and played one year at Ohio State in 2007. Last year he signed as a free agent with the Miami Heat.
