Harsh Winter Means Shortfall In Blood Supply

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- With a particularly harsh winter, 425 American Red Cross blood drives have been cancelled, resulting in a shortfall of more than 16,000 blood donations.

This kind of loss in the blood supply can potentially impact 48,000 hospital patients across the U.S. Eligible donors are encouraged to give lifesaving blood to help offset the current shortfall and ensure a stable supply.

Upcoming American Red Cross Blood Drives:
Thursday, March 28
- From 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Belmont Beverage on Anthony in Fort Wayne. Call 424-4604 to schedule your blood donation appointment.
- From 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Woodview Health Care on E. State in Fort Wayne. Call 969-2000 to schedule your blood donation appointment.
