INDIANA (21Alive) – The Indiana Department of Insurance has announced the Federal Marketplace website, healthcare.gov, is providing incorrect rates for certain plans provided in Indiana.

MDwise reported to the Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI) that consumers are being shown an incorrect premium quote for their health insurance plans on the federal website.

Insurance Commissioner Stephen Robertson says, "Both MDwise and the IDOI have urged Health and Human Services (HHS) to correct the problem, and although some fixes have been implemented, it does not seem the problem has been completely resolved."

Robertson advises Indiana consumers to work with an MDwise agent or contact MDwise to verify the monthly premium rate before enrolling through the federal website.

Consumers experiencing issues can contact Greta Hockwalt at (317) 234-6293 or email her at ghockwalt@idoi.IN.gov
