Indiana and South Carolina are tied with an adult obesity rate of 30.8 percent.
Indiana's ranking was even worse in 1995, but health experts say the new numbers mirror a growing nationwide problem in obesity.
Health networks, like Lutheran, have established numerous programs to help fight obesity.
Ohio didn't fare much better than Indiana, ranking 13th worst for adult obesity.
