FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - More than 700 people seeking jobs flocked to IPFW Wednesday. The university and Congressman Marlin Stutzman hosted the annual event.
Close to 50 employers were there. Together they are looking to fill more than 600 jobs. Congressman Stutzman is glad so many made it to the event but says a lot still needs to be done to help people find jobs.
"It's good that people are able to be here but it also shows you that there's still a demand for jobs in this community. And so I think that today, hopefully helps accomplish connecting people, employers with employees, and hopefully people will find work for themselves," said Congressman Marlin Stutzman, (R) Indiana 3rd District.
Congressman Stutzman says what he thinks will help encourage businesses to hire is less government regulation. He says that is a battle he continues to fight in Washington.
