NBC has secured the rights to broadcast the Olympic Games through 2032, according to NBC Sports.

The deal was announced Wednesday morning that NBC would pay around $7.65 billion to promote and broadcast the Olympic games between 2021 and 2032. The current deal in place expired after the 2020 summer games. NBC has broadcast every Summer Games since 1988 and every Winter Games since 2002.

The deal is an extremely important one as the Olympic Games are a huge ratings draw for the network every two years.

"We couldn’t be more excited that today’s announcement guarantees that this massively popular and profitable programming will continue to air every two years on the broadcast, cable, digital and mobile platforms of NBCUniversal for the next two decades," said NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke.

The next Olympic Games will be from Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
