Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Set up for RiverFest 2012 began along the banks of the St. Joseph River on Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne’s campus.
New to this years festival is a Beach Party, featuring tons of sand, games, water events, and sand volleyball.
Another new element was a sculpture by Fort Wayne artist and IPFW art instructor Sayaka Ganz. Ganz’s sculpture is made up of hundreds of pieces of objects that have been used and thrown away. Some
of the pieces in this new sculpture are from the St. Joseph River. The sculpture, which is located near the river, will become a permanent part of the campus landscape.
IPFW RiverFest runs, Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the IPFW campus.
