Indianapolis, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- It was a hectic school day in Indianapolis

At least 80 school bus drivers began calling in sick around noon Friday leaving officials with Indianapolis Public School District to find rides home for some 12,000 students.

The bus service is contracted out though a private company.

A statement released by the bus company says the drivers staged the sick-out over frustration with state changes to unemployment benefits.
