INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) -- Indianapolis leaders are considering a curfew change for teens in the city.
Monday night, an Indianapolis City-County Councilor will introduce an ordinance that would move up the city's curfew for 15- to 17-year-olds by two hours to 11:00 pm on weekends.
The proposal is backed by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and IMPD Police Chief Rick Hite and comes less than a week after city officials launched a formal anti-violence initiative.
Under Indy's current curfew law, teens are allowed to stay out until 1:00 am on Saturdays and Sundays.
