Kids Find Grenades and Ammo in Anderson Park

Anderson, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Kids at play find five grenades and ammo at a city park near downtown Anderson Sunday afternoon.

According to the Herald Bulletin, State Police called in the bomb squad after some children located the grenades and ammunition in a wooded area in Athletic Park. Shortly after 3 p.m. the bomb squad was able to safely dispose of the grenades and ammunition.

The annual Andersontown Powwow and Indian Market was at the park Sunday, but no evacuation was given.
