Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The fate of the North Anthony Blvd. Scott's grocery store has been announced during a Friday morning news conference outside the North Clinton Scott's store.
Company officials announced that the former North Anthony Scott's store, which has been closed for the past three months because of structural concerns, will be closed for good.
Instead, renovations will be made to the North Clinton Street store.
Officials say no jobs will be lost and that 100 jobs will be created.
Also announced was that the Village at Coventry Kroger now has a Marketplace, increasing that store in size considerably.
The remodel of the North Clinton store will take place in 2013.
Building inspectors say that the majority of the problems with the 62-year-old Scott's store on North Anthony had to deal with the roof and during the June property assessment it was proposed that it would take at least $1 million to restore/ repair the building.
