FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Manchester College will receive a $35 million grant from the Lilly Endowment, the largest donation in school history.
The funds will help launch a state-of-the-art "School of Pharmacy" in the Fort Wayne facility now home to the Parkview Cardiology Center.
Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry says, “Fort Wayne has a tremendous amount to offer as far as students, employers, and we're blessed to have two very highly respected health care organizations in our community."
Manchester College President Jo Young Switzer says, “There's a national growing shortage of pharmacists, and because medications are getting more sophisticated, pharmacists are becoming a more active role in the health care team."
The four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program will enroll 265-students, with the first classes beginning in the fall of 2012.
