Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne man charged in an incident that led to him being shot by the police was in court Tuesday morning.

Vincent Castaneda, 43, was charged with disarming an officer and resisting police.

In mid-march, officers chased Castaneda into a house on Third St.

Officials say he wrestled a taser away from an officer. During the struggle he was shot and injured.

A jury trail has been set for September 18th and 19th.

Castaneda is now being held at the Allen County jail. He faces seven years in prison if convicted.
