Man and Dog Safely Escape Early Morning House Fire

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne Fire Department is investigating the cause of an early Tuesday morning house fire.

Units responded to a call of smoke in the 500 block of Madison Street at around 2 a.m.

Upon arrival they found a two story house with smoke coming from the first floor.

A man and his dog had evacuated the residence before fire fighters arrived.

The fire was contained within 14 minutes and one firefighter suffered minor injuries to his hand.
