Marion Boy Hits Car On Skateboard, Suffering Head Trauma

MARION/VAN BUREN, Ind. (21Alive) – A Marion Teen is fighting for his life after running into a car on a skateboard.

Initial reports indicate that a teenage boy has been seriously injured, possibly suffering from brain damage, after running into a car while on a skateboard.

21Alive News was told the accident happened near the intersection of Plum Street and Second Street in Van Buren around 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

It was reported to 21Alive that the teen was holding on to the bumper of his friend's car, which was traveling at speeds nearing 30 mph.

21Alive News was told that two of the teen's friends were in the car, one of them driving, when the car abruptly stopped.

The stop caused the teen on the skateboard to hit his head, and he reportedly went into convulsions and induced heavy bleeding from his ears.

21Alive News was told he was taken Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. His condition has not been released.
