Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – While the weather may have cooled off from the toasty 100 degree weather, the ground is still dry and on Tuesday there was a good reminder why the burn ban remains in place.

Late Tuesday morning fire crews were called to a field in the 9100 block of Huguenard Road on the city’s Northwest side or report of a field fire.

Because of the quick action of the Washington Township Fire Department the fire was quickly put under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. However, fire officials say carelessness is the number one cause of the blazes.
