Meijer to Open Operations Facility in Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Meijer is set to open a new operations facility in Fort Wayne.

The Michigan-based supermarket chain already has 28 stores and 7,500 employees in Indiana.

This facility will be operational in the next two years, and Meijer will hire 36 people for warehousing, logistics and IT positions.

The state offered Meijer $400,000 in grants and tax breaks to locate the facility here.

Meijer expects to finalize the location within the next 30 days
