WAYNEDALE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A little rain couldn't keep the good people of Waynedale off the streets Monday morning, not on Memorial Day anyway.

The annual parade to remember those who gave their lives in service to this country stepped off right on time at 9 a.m. The route went from the Waynedale United Methodist Church, through town and up Old Trail Road.

The procession of law enforcement, firefighters, veteran, sirens flags and yes, umbrellas, got a nod of approval from those who braved the raindrops to be a part of it.

"It's tradition. We always come. First time I ever remember rain," Betty Woodmansee, a local resident, remarked as she watched the parade.

Veterans Chad and Sheri Adams said "They support us no matter what the weather, it's for them."

The parade ended at Prairie Grove Cemetery with a memorial service where a wreath was placed in honor of those who have died.
