Michael Strahan is Kelly's New Co-Host on Live!

New York (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Former New York Giant and current commentator, Michael Strahan, has been announced as Kelly Ripa's new co-host.

Strahan joined her officially Tuesday morning.

Regis Philbun retired from the show in November and several auditions have been held.

Strahan first appeared as a guest with Regis and Kelly in 2008 after the Giants won the Super Bowl and jokingly told the pair that he wanted Regis' job after he left!

Strahan presented Kelly with a dozen red roses and a bear-hug to say "thank you."
