Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne man is facing multiple felony charges after he crashed a moped with two children riding on it.

Jose De Jesus E. Rizo, 27, was driving Saturday near McCormick and Redwood avenues and missed a turn. He then lost control of the moped, causing it to skid.

Rizo was transporting two children at the time and were thrown from the moped when it crashed. The children, who are not related to Rizo, received cuts over their head, face and body. Court papers say that the children weren’t wearing helmets or eye protection. The children's ages were not released.

Police said Rizo's blood-alcohol content at the scene was 0.24 percent, three times Indiana's legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Rizo was charged with two felony counts of neglect of a dependent, two felony counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and a single misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

He posted bond Monday evening and was released from jail.
