August 6, 2014 Updated Aug 6, 2014 at 3:51 PM EDT

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- A new committee to review Legacy Funding requests may be formed by the City of Fort Wayne.

The creation of the new committee was announced today by Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. The seven-member committee will consist of three members of Mayor Henry's administration, two members of City Council, and two citizen members, one selected by the Mayor and the other by City Council.

The new process will also allow for non-profits and private companies to apply for Legacy funding.

The resolution to create the committee will be introduced at City Council on August 12. The council will discuss and potentially pass the resolution at the meeting.
