INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (www.theindychannel) -- Self-proclaimed friends of Katelyn Wolfe have started an online petition asking prosecutors to seek the death penalty in the case against the two men accused of killing the Linton, Ind., woman.

The petition, on the site ipetitions.com, calls on the State of Indiana to "show no mercy" on Jordan Buskirk, 26, and Randal Crosley, 25.

Buskirk and Crosley are each charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit rape and criminal confinement.

According to court documents, the men bound Wolfe with duct tape, strangled her with a rope and put her in a car trunk before tying a weight to her body and dumping her in a lake.

Buskirk told police that he and Crosley had been discussing and preparing for "forcing themselves onto a complete stranger" for at least a week before Wolfe's death, the probable cause affidavit said.

More than 200 people had signed the petition as of Tuesday afternoon -- though some individuals signed more than once, and many signers chose to remain anonymous.

Many signers included comments backing up their signatures.

"The (sic) should definitely get the death penalty. The poor girl was only 19. She had the rest of her life to live and they took that from her. So they should have theirs taken from them," wrote signer Jennifer Slade.

"she was a dear friend to all of us and they deserve every bit of it!!! inject them!!! (sic)" Brooke Jackson wrote.

RTV6 asked Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw on Friday whether the death penalty was being considered, but he said he would not comment on the ongoing investigation.

A preliminary plea of not guilty was entered on behalf of both men in court Friday.

They're both scheduled back in court Aug. 5.
