INDIANA (www.incnow.tv) – Four Indiana high school track coaches are on administrative leave after students say they were forced to do backward bear crawls around the track for missing practice.

The punishment left blisters on some of the hands of the nearly one dozen students involved, who had missed practice for various reasons.

School officials say they’re taking the allegations very seriously and investigating what happened and parents are calling for their jobs. The assistant superintendent released a statement apologizing to parents, promising a full investigation and announcing that they had contacted the Indiana Department of Child Services.

All of the coaches have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
