FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - The Allen County Coroner identifies the man fatally struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning.
According to the coroner report, Richard John May, 25, of Bluffton died from multiple blunt force injuries. His death has been ruled an accident.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of North Clinton and Grove streets around 3:17 a.m. Sunday morning. May was pronounced dead on the scene.
Witnesses stated a Jeep was southbound on North Clinton, when the driver of the Jeep and the front seat passenger, May, were involved in an argument. May got out of the moving vehicle and landed on North Clinton Street. A driver in an Impala was a short distance behind the Jeep and struck May. They immediately stopped and remained on the scene.
Police say alcohol is not a factor in this crash, pertaining to the driver of the Impala.
The incident remains under investigation.
