FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- A pharmacy tech at the Kroger store in Waynedale was arrested Thursday night on preliminary charges of possession of controlled substances and theft.

According to a detective with the Criminal Investigation Division, Thursday around noon another detective received a phone call from the security manager at the Kroger store on Bluffton Rd. and informed that Jessicah Bargas, 26, was suspected of stealing prescription medications from the pharmacy in recent months.

At 8:30 p.m. as Bargas was finishing her shift, she was confronted by both the Security Manager and the Pharmacy Coordinator. Bargas allegedly produced a bottle containing 100 Hydrocodone pills during their conversation.

She was then detained until such time that the detectives arrived to take her into custody. A second bottle containing 100 Hydrocodone pills was also found on her person and a third bottle containing 100 Alprazolam (Xanax) pills was subsequently located in her vehicle.
