FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- One man is behind bars after leading police on a pursuit that ended with him crashing his vehicle into a vacant home on the city's southeast side early Monday.

It happened just before 3:30 a.m. Fort Wayne police attempted to pull the car over, but the driver, Christopher Smith, refused. He then led officers on a short pursuit before slamming into a home at the intersection of E. Paulding Rd. and Abbott St.

Smith exited the car and was beginning to come out of the house but was not following the officer's commands to show his hands. One officer tased him.

Officers were able to pull Smith out of the home and place him under arrest. According to initial reports, the officers found marijuana and an unlicensed firearm in the car.

This incident remains under investigation.
