WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Purdue University All-American Marching Band members are busy at work creating the largest version of the World's Largest Drum for the National Red Bull Flugtag in Chicago on Sept. 21.

Last year, band members were a part of the competition with what they called the "Droppin The Bass" glider which was launched off a four-story lakefront platform in the windy city.

They are back at it again this year with a new design but are still planning on incorporating the World's Largest Drum concept.

The crew is made up of member of Tau Beta Sigma, the national honorary band service sorority at Purdue.
