SOUTH WHITLEY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A man sought following a high-speed chase in South Whitley has been captured.

Police say Steven Waid was arrested in Ft. Wayne around 12:30 Friday morning. He apparently led officers on a pursuit then crashed into a home on Solitude Place.

This came about 16 hours after police say Waid pulled a gun on another man during an altercation at a South Whitley gas station Thursday morning.

He then fled in an SUV which prompted a police pursuit through the town. He wrecked that vehicle, then ran back to the gas station, allegedly stole a truck and drove off.

Schools in South Whitley were on lockdown for hours after the pursuit.

Waid now faces criminal charges in Whitley and Allen counties.
