Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A local company is celebrating 50 years of operation with a building expansion.

Pyromation of Fort Wayne cut the ribbon on a 15,000 square foot manufacturing plant.

The company makes temperature sensors for steel mills, chemical plants and refineries.

The president of Pyromation says he's re-modeling and investing in new equipment to develop new methods of power production.

Pyromation President Peter Wilson says, “Allows us to take advantage of new market opportunities. As well as invest back in our plant and our community in ways that we wanted to begin before the recession; but couldn't do until a couple years coming out of it."

Wilson says Pyromation has hired 12 new workers since 2011 to coincide with the expansion.
