ALLEN COUNTY, IN (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - It wasn't the raising of the roof, but the raising of the walls on Fort Wayne’s latest Habitat for Humanity House.
The home is being built for a couple with a young daughter and is the 158th house built for an Allen County family.
I&M is sponsoring the house with money and employee volunteers, the fifth one for the utility.
Habitat for Humanity requires a family to put down $500 for an interest-free mortgage and invest sweat equity as the home is built with volunteer labor.
