FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- A local principal has won 101 books for her students by reading on the roof top of her school.

It's part of Pizza Hut's "Book It!" Principal Challenge.

Principal Alexandria Bergman of Most Precious Blood School will now receive 101 copies of the eighth book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid serious called Hard Luck.

Bergman read books for an entire school day and stood outside on the roof during lunch and recess in 35 degree weather.

Bergman says she did it to be a role model to her students.

"Book It! puts on the challenge during National Young Reader's Week, and of course as principal of any school, we know the importance of reading for young children, and so, to be a model for the students and the teachers, and to show them that reading's important to me too," Bergman said.

For winning the contest, students got a Pizza Party Monday and each family will get to take home a copy of the book.
