Copenhagen, Denmark (www.incnow.tv) - A Danish company is developing technology to allow users to control their mobile devices with their eyes.
Eye Tribe's website says the technology works thanks to the help of a front facing camera on smartphones or tablets.
Images captured by the camera are analyzed using computer vision algorithms to determine the location of the eyes and what the user is looking at on the screen.
Eye Tribe Engineer, Sebastian Sztuk says, "What we've developed is a software that enables eye tracking or eye control on standard, low cost higher volume products or components. So we can actually use the camera that's integrated in today's tablets and smartphones to do eye control on the mobile device."
The technology even supports games.
"It's very important to be ahead of the game and we've spent many years doing research in this field. One year ago we decided now the time is right to spin out and we can potentially make it to be the first ones," CEO, Sune Alstrup stated.
The company says it hopes to have the first device with the software on the market in 2013.
