INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The 38th Annual Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) finals for high school marching bands took place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday. We have the results. Indiana's NewsCenter congratulates all our local high school bands.

The 38th Annual Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) finals for high school marching bands took place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday.
The Class B competition included Fort Wayne's North Side High School who took ninth place and Waterloo's Dekalb High School marching band who took eighth place. Performing in the Class C competition were Fort Wayne's Concordia Lutheran High School who took eighth place and Ossian's Norwell High School who took third. Fort Wayne's Homestead High School performed in Class A and took third place.
The top ten scoring bands in each of the four classes from the semi-state competition competed for ranking order and the title of State Champion for their respective class in an event that is widely known as one of the best state high school marching band contests in the country.
Performances started with 146 bands on Oct. 2 at seven district sites. 120 bands continued to regional performances on Oct. 16 at four sites. 81 bands, including 20 Class A, C and D and 21 Class B bands continued to semi-state performances on Oct. 23. The remaining 40 bands were at the state finals to decide champions in each class.
The ISSMA Marching Band State Finals are held at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. This event typically attracts more than 20,000 marching band fans from across the state throughout the day.
