FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - An administrator with Allen County Right to Life has filed a personal complaint against the Fort Wayne Women’s Health Organization, a registered abortion provider.
Cathie Humbarger, Allen County Right to Life's Executive Director, says the Women’s Health Organization at 2210 Inwood Drive does not have wheel chair ramps or handicap parking spaces.
In the complaint filed with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice on July 9, Humbarger says the organization is in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Humbarger’s office window faces the health organization, and she says she filed the complaint because she has noticed women leaving the building in “physical distress.”
“Often times they need to be supported on either side as they exit the building, go down some steps and get in their car,” she said. .
Humbarger says the complaint isn't aimed at limiting access to abortion services, but about her concern for women after the procedure.
The Fort Wayne Women’s Health Organization refused to comment on the situation.
