S&P: US Has Negative Credit Rating

NEW YORK (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The nation's credit rating outlook has been lowered by the S&P.

The Standard and Poor's lower credits outlook for America’s long-term credit rating to "negative" from "stable," based on the uncertain political debate around the nation's fiscal problems.

The outlook means that there is a one-in-three likelihood that it could lower the long-term rating on the United States within two years

Third District Indiana Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement shortly after the S&P announcement: “The President has decided to ignore the S&P downgrade as a 'political judgment' again showing his disregard for the fiscal situation facing our nation.

This lack of leadership is unconscionable.”
