FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Pushing our youth to succeed. That's the plan of a new program called "Scholar Success."
The program is designed to make sure low-income students understand and complete the proper steps required to succeed in college.
There are 12 steps of the program, three in each of the four years of high school.
The President of the Indiana Youth Institute says some of those steps include making a college payment plan, visiting a college, or filling out a financial aid form.
If you want to take part in the program, ask a teacher or counselor for more information.
“Those educators want to help, they've received the information from state government, now we need to make sure the students have that information so they can properly prepare for the education after high school that they need to be able to get a job in today's economy,” said Bill Stanczykiewicz, President and CEO of Indiana Youth Institute.
Officials say this program will close the information gap that too many students have about how to be successful.
