Senate Republicans Block 9/11 First-Responder Bill

WASHINGTON (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Republicans also blocked a vote to open debate on a bill to give free medical benefits and compensation to the emergency workers who responded to the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center.

The GOP feels the $7.4 billion cost is too high.

Democrats say the nation is indebted to those first responders.
